Shelley Miller, DNP, APRN, FNP-C is an Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Nursing. She joined full-time faculty in February 2022 after serving as adjunct faculty and practicing in clinical settings such as Campbell Clinic Orthopaedics and Methodist Minor Medical Centers.
- Education: BA in Psychology (University of Tennessee, Knoxville), MSN in Nursing Education (University of Phoenix), DNP with Family Nurse Practitioner concentration (UTHSC)
Her research interests include stroke research, rural and underserved healthcare, and sickle cell disease, with additional focus on simulation-based training through her fellowship with the Tennessee Simulation Alliance. She contributed to the development of the Medical Management Program at Campbell Clinic Orthopaedics and co-founded the Nurse Practitioner Practice Council at Methodist Minor Medical Centers.
- Scientific Awards: Tennessee Simulation Alliance Fellow (2-year tenure)
Dr. Miller's clinical experience spans emergency care, pediatric intensive care, and wound management. Her current role emphasizes integrating clinical practice with education, leveraging her background in simulation training and curriculum development.
