Dr. Sheela Thiruvadi is a Professor at the Earl G Graves School of Business and Management, Morgan State University. Her expertise spans auditing, corporate governance, gender studies, financial accounting, and accounting information systems. She holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from Florida International University (2008) with a minor in Information Systems.
Her research explores audit committee dynamics, gender influences in finance, and fraud detection technologies. She has contributed to journals like Accounting Horizons and the Journal of Forensic & Investigative Accounting. Notable work includes studies on audit fees, political CSR spillovers, and internal control frameworks.
Thiruvadi has served on the ISACA Central Maryland chapter board (2009-2013) and the American Accounting Association Mid-Atlantic Steering Committee (2009-2017). Her teaching innovations focus on forensic accounting and audit technologies.
