Shecoya White

Dr. Shecoya White is an Associate Professor in the Department of Animal and Poultry Sciences at Mississippi State University, affiliated with the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station. Her research focuses on food microbiology, pathogen control, and animal health.

Research interests span foodborne pathogens, biofilm formation, and microbial safety in poultry processing environments. Her recent publications examine Campylobacter jejuni aerotolerance, Salmonella biofilm dynamics, and antimicrobial interventions like thyme oil and silver nanocomposites.

Scientific awards include the CALS/MAFES New Faculty Award, IHL Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Award, and CEL Fellowship. She mentors graduate students Elizabeth Zonia, Caro Maria Hidalgo, and Dianna Wilson.
