Dr. Shea Burden is an Assistant Professor in the School of Accountancy at Ohio University and Director of the Copeland Scholars Honors Program. She holds a BBA (2004) from Ohio University, MBA (2009) from the University of Houston–Clear Lake, and DBA (2021) from the University of Scranton. Her professional certifications include CMA, CPA, and IRC. She has extensive industry experience in public accounting (Deloitte), corporate finance (Lubrizol), SEC reporting, and investor relations, before transitioning to academia in 2017.
Her research interests align with her professional background in accounting practices, corporate governance, financial communication, and educational pedagogy. She actively contributes to community service through leadership roles in Jack and Jill of America, Inc., including organizing large-scale fundraising initiatives, mental health support programs, and youth development efforts. Notable achievements include a $250K Double Good Fundraiser (2020–2021) and mental health advocacy campaigns.
