Shawn Reed serves as the Head Women's Basketball Coach and Associate Athletic Director at Tabor College. He holds an academic appointment as Assistant Professor of Health & Physical Education and previously taught Exercise Science at Sterling College. He earned an M.Ed. in Sports Administration from Wichita State University and a B.S. in Health & Physical Education from Sterling College.
Research & Leadership: Reed’s work integrates athletic excellence with academic achievement. His teams have consistently ranked among the NAIA’s top programs academically, including 6/9 years as KCAC’s highest team GPA and 2nd-highest NAIA GPA in 2023-24. His coaching philosophy emphasizes character development, reflected in KCAC Team of Character awards and NAIA Scholar Team recognitions.
Professional Impact: Reed’s coaching record includes 273 victories, 8 NAIA National Tournament appearances, and historic 'Elite Eight' finishes (2015-16). He mentors student-athletes who have achieved NAIA/WBCA All-America honors and KCAC accolades. Reed also contributes to NAIA governance, serving on All-America Selection Committees and KCAC/NAIA rating committees since 2015.
