Shawn Ladda is a Professor in the Department of Physical Education and Human Performance at Manhattan College. He holds an EDD from Columbia University, a MS from Springfield College, and a BS from Pennsylvania State University. His research focuses on pedagogy, coaching, wellness, and the sociology/history of sport. Ladda has been recognized with awards including the 2012 NYSAHPERD Professional of the Year and AAHPERD Honor Award (2010). He has authored over 50 publications on topics ranging from Title IX analysis to women's sport history. His professional experience includes leadership roles in NAGWS and AAHPERD, and he has presented at international conferences like the IAPESGW World Congress in South Africa (2009). Ladda's work emphasizes equity in athletics, teacher preparation, and historical preservation of women's sport contributions.
