Shawn Hove is an Associate Professor of Dance at Connecticut College, where he has been teaching since 2011. He is a multidisciplinary dance artist working as a choreographer, dancer, collaborator, educator, lighting designer, and media artist. He serves as founder and artistic director of 'shove gently dance' and contributes to a department that emphasizes learning through rigorous experimentation and exposure to current dance theory and practice.

- B.F.A. in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts
- M.F.A. in Choreography from The Ohio State University
Professor Hove specializes in the intersection of dance and technology, with expertise spanning dance production, lighting design, mediated performance, and dance film. His creative approach bridges traditional dance forms with multimedia elements, exploring how technology transforms choreographic expression and documentation. He has developed significant expertise in dance for camera, creating films that have been shown in international festivals and producing promotional content for prominent dance companies.
At Connecticut College, Hove teaches across multiple technical and creative aspects of dance production, contributing to a program that offers instruction in Modern, Hip Hop, West African, Afro-Caribbean, Ballet, and Improvisation.
