Dr. Shawn Bugden is Dean and Professor in the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University of Newfoundland. He is a trained pharmacist with postgraduate studies at the University of Manitoba, University of Washington, and University of Oxford, and has over a decade of experience in hospital pharmacy management, especially in rural and remote Canada.
His research focuses on the optimal use of medications, with key interests in:

- Drug Utilization

- Opioid Stewardship
- Health Policy
- Pharmacy Practice
