Joyce Huang is a Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice with expertise in clinical pharmacy, epidemiology, and health data science. She focuses on optimizing medication use and improving healthcare services for aging populations, particularly addressing polypharmacy, drug optimization, and comorbidities such as type 2 diabetes and dementia. She collaborates with organizations including Northern Care Alliance, NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC), and Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Her research interests include pharmacoepidemiology, drug utilization research, and high-risk medications. She currently serves as a Review Editor of Frontiers in Public Health.
Recent articles explore polypharmacy's impact on mortality, diabetes management in aging populations, and medication review practices. She leads a project on repurposing thiazolidinediones for vascular dementia (2024–2025).
