Dr. Shaveen Singh is a Lecturer in the School of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at UNSW Sydney. Prior to joining UNSW, he served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for Learning Analytics at Monash University (CoLAM). His academic journey spans over a decade, with expertise at the intersection of Computer Science Education, Learning Analytics and Human-Computer Interaction.

Dr. Singh's research focuses on designing methods to better understand and support Self-Regulated Learning (SRL), with recent work involving (1) investigating computational approaches to analyze students' learning behaviors and self-regulation strategies, and (2) leveraging HCI and software engineering techniques to design, build and evaluate interactive learning systems that optimize learner experience and learning efficacy. His work spans the domains of data analytics, computational modeling, and the design and deployment of novel tools to support teaching and learning.
His research demonstrates strong trends in human-centered learning analytics, with particular emphasis on developing systems that support teachers and students through trace data analysis, personalized scaffolding, and real-time feedback mechanisms. His publications reveal consistent focus on Self-Regulated Learning measurement and facilitation, with increasing application of artificial intelligence techniques like reinforcement learning for adaptive educational systems.
Dr. Singh has received recognition for his contributions to educational technology and learning analytics, with multiple publications in top-tier educational technology venues.
He is actively seeking highly self-motivated PhD candidates with strong interest in technology-enhanced education and welcomes opportunities to supervise Master's and undergraduate students at UNSW Sydney.
