Dragan Gasevic is a Distinguished Professor of Learning Analytics at Monash University's Faculty of Information Technology and Director of the Centre for Learning Analytics (CoLAM). Previously, he held the Sir Tim O’Shea Chair in Learning Analytics and Informatics at the University of Edinburgh (2015–2018) and was Canada Research Chair in Semantic and Learning Technologies at Athabasca University (2007–2015). He has honorary professorships and fellowships across multiple continents. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to education and innovation. He leads major projects like the EU-funded SHEILA and the Australian Research Council's HARNESS initiative. He is a founder of the Society for Learning Analytics Research (SoLAR), served as program chair for the International Conference on Learning Analytics & Knowledge (LAK), and co-edited influential journals such as the Journal of Learning Analytics. In 2022, he received the Lifetime Member Award from SoLAR and recognition as a Distinguished Member of ACM. His research focuses on AI-driven tools for self-regulated and collaborative learning, including dashboards, feedback systems, and multimodal analytics.
Education: Dragan holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Computer Science) from the University of Belgrade (2005), alongside a Master of Science (2002) and Diplom Ingenieur (2000) in Computer Science from the same institution.
