Jelena Jovanovic

Jelena Jovanovic is a Professor at the Department of Software Engineering, Faculty of Organizational Sciences (School of Business Administration), University of Belgrade, Serbia. She holds adjunct professor roles at the Centre for the Science of Learning & Technology (SLATE) at the University of Bergen, Norway, and the Centre for Learning Analytics at Monash (CoLAM), Monash University, Australia. Her research focuses on computational approaches in education, including machine learning, network analysis, and text analytics to understand self-regulated learning in higher education. She emphasizes translating data insights into actionable feedback for educators and learners.

She teaches courses such as Programming 2, Intelligent Systems, Applied Artificial Intelligence, and Social Network Analysis at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She serves as Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies and on the editorial boards of Journal of Learning Analytics, Journal of Educational Data Mining, and Computers & Education: Artificial Intelligence.

Jelena is affiliated with the GOOD OLD AI research network, the Laboratory for Systems, Software and Semantics (LS3) at Toronto Metropolitan University, and the Centre for Change and Complexity in Learning (C3L) at the University of South Australia. Her recent projects include Disciplinary Discourse Analytics for Deep Learning, GRASS - Grading Soft Skills (an EU project), and Knowledge-Driven Information Extraction from the Web.
