Sharon Mutare

Dr. Sharon Mutare is a Research Fellow at the University of Hertfordshire's School of Health and Social Work, affiliated with the Research and Innovation Hub and collaborating with the Integrated Care System (ICS). Her work focuses on maternal and infant health nutrition, particularly in Emirati populations in the UAE, with a PhD centered on the first 1000 days of life. She has a multidisciplinary background spanning mental health, diabetes prevention, and special needs education.

Education: PhD in Nutritional Sciences (University of Arab Emirates, 2024), MSc in International Public Health Nutrition (University of Westminster), BSc in Human Biology and Nutrition (Kingston University).

Research interests include dietary habits in minority groups, public health interventions, and translational research. Her projects include the UAE National Birth Cohort Study and hypertension case-finding initiatives in Hertfordshire/West Essex. Collaborations involve institutions in the UAE and UK with a focus on culturally sensitive healthcare solutions.

Grants include PI roles in the PARITY project (2025) and hypertension research (2024-2025). She actively mentors nursing students in research practices and advocates for inclusive research participation.
