Dr. Sharon James is an Assistant Professor in the Accounting Department at Medgar Evers College. She holds a Doctor of Management from Touro University Worldwide, an MBA from Long Island University, and an MS in Accounting from Liberty University, following her BS in Business Administration and Accounting from Medgar Evers College (2017, 2021). Her academic journey includes leadership roles as a student, such as Junior Class President and Curriculum Committee member, and founding the club Voices for Self-reliance to connect business theory with practice.
Dr. James’ research emphasizes integrating accounting into broader business systems, advocating for discovery-based learning to link classroom concepts with real-world applications. She aims to collaborate with community businesses to enhance accounting strategies through her academic work.
Her professional experience spans roles as CFO at James Management Consulting, Inc. and Redemption Community World Ministries, Inc., alongside community outreach initiatives, which inform her teaching approach and institutional engagement.
