Dr. Brun’s research integrates somatic practices with depth psychology through arts-based methodologies, emphasizing cross-cultural transmission and inclusive inquiry. Her work explores how music, dance, and shadow work can transform therapeutic approaches, particularly in reclaiming marginalized feminine powers and developing expressive academic forms. She bridges decades of music composition and dance improvisation with clinical training from the University of Colorado and Boulder Psychotherapy Institute.
Recent publications reveal an evolving trajectory from faculty research motivation studies (2017) toward innovative arts-integrated psychological inquiry (2024–2025), highlighting her commitment to stretching academic boundaries for greater inclusivity through somatic and creative frameworks.
As co-chair of the Cauldron faculty senate, she actively shapes university governance while maintaining clinical supervision practices that synthesize depth psychotherapy with embodied arts modalities.
