Shaofeng Liu is a Professor of Operations Management and Decision Making, serving as Deputy Director of the Doctoral College at the University of Plymouth's Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business. He leads the Product and Service Value Chains Research Cluster and is Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Decision Support System Technology. His work focuses on decision support systems, agri-food supply chain resilience, and sustainable supply chain management. He has coordinated and participated in major grants totaling over £10M, including UKRI projects on agri-food resilience, minority ethnic professorship development (Generation Delta), and water sustainability.
Research interests include knowledge mobilization, Industry 4.0 applications, blockchain in agriculture, and healthcare diagnostic technologies. He has supervised over 10 PhD students to completion and currently oversees projects on blockchain adoption in Nigeria, social network analytics in food supply chains, and closed-loop social value networks. His editorial roles and conference leadership (e.g., ICDSST 2023) underscore his global impact in decision support systems.
Awards include a HEA award for innovative teaching in management decision making. He contributes to UN SDGs 2 (Zero Hunger), 12 (Responsible Consumption), and 17 (Partnerships).
