Dr. Shannon Webb is a Clinical Psychologist and Lecturer in the Clinical Psychology Unit (CPU), School of Psychology at the University of Sydney. She previously served as Clinical Lead of an adolescent inpatient mental health unit in NSW, focusing on crisis intervention and trauma-informed care. Her work integrates clinical experience with academic research to improve mental health service delivery for vulnerable populations.
Research interests include attachment-based therapies, mitigating iatrogenic harms in inpatient settings, trauma-informed care models, and enhancing community-based mental health systems. Current projects involve developing trauma-informed interventions (Brolga-FAITH Project) and evaluating inpatient care outcomes (Brolga Unit Database Study).
Grant-funded projects include NSLHD & NORTH Foundation Grants (2022) and Sydney Health Partners Implementation Science Grants (2024). Advising focuses on ward milieu dynamics and rule-setting in adolescent inpatient care through student projects with Diana Vassilenko and Clara Goossens.
Her research spans clinical psychology, neuropsychology, and gerontology, balancing youth mental health with cognitive interventions for aging populations. Collaborations include multidisciplinary teams addressing systemic challenges in public mental health.
