Shannon Scielzo

Shannon Scielzo, M.S., Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She serves as the Associate Director of Education and Strategic Planning Consultant for Graduate Medical Education. Her work focuses on mentoring/coaching, well-being, and evaluation best practices in medical training environments.

• Master’s and Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, University of Central Florida
• Fellowship in Macrocognition, UCF Institute for Simulation and Training

Her research spans industrial psychology, medical education, and human-computer interaction, with a focus on improving resident well-being through tools like the "Fuel Gauge," evaluating mentoring dynamics, and enhancing password memorability via cognitive psychology. She has presented extensively on these topics and contributed to peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Scielzo co-chairs the Program Performance Improvement Committee for Graduate Medical Education, serves on accreditation and data analysis committees, and works with high-school students on science projects. She also analyzed ice-skating judging bias, highlighting her interest in social equity.
