Shannon Sauer-Zavala is Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Kentucky and Director of the Treatment Innovation for Psychological Services (TIPS) Lab. Her research develops transdiagnostic treatments for emotional disorders, specializing in the Unified Protocol and personality-based interventions for high-risk populations like public safety personnel.
Current projects include adapting emotional resilience training for Royal Canadian Mounted Police cadets, examining cultural moderators in treatment outcomes, and developing the BPD Compass protocol for borderline personality disorder. She maintains collaborations with Boston University and international partners. Publications reflect innovation in treatment personalization, therapeutic mechanisms, and cross-cultural implementation.
