David H. Barlow is Professor Emeritus of Psychology and Psychiatry at Boston University and founder of the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders. His clinical research focuses on understanding anxiety/depression and developing treatments for emotional disorders.
Education includes a PhD from the University of Vermont. Research interests center on transdiagnostic approaches to emotional disorders, neuroticism frameworks, and unified treatment protocols applicable across anxiety/depression spectrum disorders.
Publications establish integrative models for psychopathology and evidence-based treatment manuals. Recent work explores neuroticism as core vulnerability factor and standardized protocols for comorbid conditions.
Developed Unified Protocol for transdiagnostic treatment adopted internationally. Authored over 90 books and 650+ articles including foundational texts on clinical psychology and psychopathology.
