Dr. Shannon R. Lane is an Associate Professor of Social Work at Yeshiva University's Wurzweiler School of Social Work, where she teaches in both PhD and MSW programs. She earned her PhD from the University of Connecticut, MSW from the University of Michigan, and BA from George Washington University.
- Academic Leadership: Associate Director of Research for the Wurzweiler PhD Program.
- Key Publications: Author of Political Social Work: Using Power to Create Social Change (2018) and Social Welfare Policy in a Changing World (2025, with Elizabeth Palley and Corey Shdaimah).
Research Interests focus on political social work and justice, social policy advocacy, macro practice, and voter engagement strategies. Her work examines the intersection of social work practice with political activism, particularly through initiatives like the Campaign School for Social Workers, which has trained 3,000+ professionals in political leadership.
