Professor Joan Beder is a faculty member at Yeshiva University's Wurzweiler School of Social Work. She joined the faculty in 1993 after serving as the assistant field work director for two years. Her academic journey includes a DSW from Yeshiva University, an MSW from Adelphi University (1963), and a BA from Adelphi University.

Her publication Advances in Social Work Practice with the Military (2012) reflects her focus on military-related social work, with broader contributions to clinical practice literature.
