Shannon Pociu

Shannon Pociu is a Lecturer in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences at the Yale School of Public Health. She has over 20 years of experience as an Environmental Analyst 3 at the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), specializing in PFAS and emerging contaminants. Her work focuses on remediation strategies for State and Federal Superfund sites, potable water projects, and land reuse initiatives.

• BS in Renewable Natural Resources and BA in Geography from the University of Connecticut
• MS in Environmental Science from the University of New Haven
• Lead technical advisor for DEEP on PFAS since 2019
• Active participant in Connecticut’s Interagency PFAS Task Force

Her research interests bridge environmental contaminant management and public health, particularly addressing chemical exposure risks through water systems. She integrates practical remediation expertise with academic teaching in environmental health sciences.
