Shannon McCarthy

Dr. Shannon McCarthy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Human Studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Education. She holds concurrent roles as Associate Scientist in the College of Arts and Sciences and the UAB Center for Study of Community Health. Her research focuses on family systems training for school counselors, community engagement strategies, and qualitative inquiry methods.
