Andrea Whitten

Andrea Whitten is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Education, specializing in the Department of Human Studies. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services from the University of Alabama (2024) and a Master of Education in Clinical/Counseling and Applied Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University (2015).

Her research interests focus on substance abuse counseling, career development, child and adolescent mental health, and couples/family therapy. As a clinician-educator, she integrates evidence-based practices into both classroom teaching and direct counseling services.
