Lindsay M. Vik serves as an Assistant Professor in the Counselor Education department at Portland State University's College of Education, joining the faculty in 2022. Her role focuses on the Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling track within clinical education.

- PhD in Counselor Education and Counseling (specialization: Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling) from Idaho State University
- MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from University of Nebraska - Omaha
- BS in Human Development and Family Studies from South Dakota State University
Dr. Vik's research examines adventure-based counseling applications and the critical intersection of natural space accessibility with identity, lived experiences, and mental health outcomes. She pioneers culturally responsive relational counseling frameworks while developing innovative training methodologies for counselors supporting diverse family systems. Her work further investigates sustainable advocacy practices and professional identity formation among counseling students, emphasizing equity in therapeutic environments.
As an active American Counseling Association member, she engages with multiple divisions and presents at national conferences. Dr. Vik mentors students as Faculty Advisor for Chi Sigma Iota honor society and teaches Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling courses alongside clinical practicum and internship supervision.
Outside academia, she pursues outdoor activities including trail hiking and paddling with her partner and two dogs, and practices embroidery while reading fantasy literature.
