Shannon Latkin Anderson is a faculty member at Roanoke College, affiliated with the Department of Sociology and Public Health since 2010. She teaches core sociology courses such as Introduction to Sociology and Social Theory and serves as Director of Strategic Health Initiatives, managing partnerships in local health ecosystems.

Her research and teaching focus on immigration, assimilation, and cultural construction of American national identity, alongside public health initiatives. In 2017-2018, she coordinated the launch of Roanoke College's Public Health Studies program, reflecting her interdisciplinary expertise.
Anderson's 2015 book, Immigration, Assimilation, and the Cultural Construction of American National Identity, highlights her work in social integration, cultural identity, and policy analysis.
