Shannon Jordan Drayton

Shannon Jordan Drayton is an Associate Professor and Assistant Dean for Assessment and Accreditation at the College of Pharmacy, Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). She holds a PharmD from the University of South Carolina (2000) and completed pharmacy practice and psychiatry residencies at Johns Hopkins Hospital (2002-2003). Her research focuses on schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and mood disorders within psychiatric pharmacotherapy.

Dr. Drayton has received numerous awards, including the 2011 SCCP Preceptor of the Year, 2015 MUSC Educator-Lecturer of the Year, and 2021-22 Mentor of the Year. She is board-certified in Psychiatric Pharmacy Practice and oversees accreditation and assessment initiatives at MUSC.

Her work emphasizes clinical teaching and mentorship, reflected in awards such as the MUSC Foundation Clinical Teaching Excellence nomination and recognition in Focused Leadership (2015).
