Chrisovalantis Paxos

Chrisovalantis Paxos, Pharm.D., is a Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), where he also serves as Director of Pharmacotherapy in the College of Pharmacy. He holds triple board certifications in pharmacotherapy, psychiatric pharmacy, and geriatric pharmacy from the Board of Pharmacy Specialties.

Education: Dr. Paxos earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from Ohio Northern University (2007) and completed postgraduate training through a Psychiatric Residency at West Virginia University Hospitals and School of Pharmacy (2008).

Research Focus: His work centers on psychiatric pharmacotherapy with emphases in neuropharmacology, geriatric psychiatry, substance use disorders, and psychopharmacological interventions. Research spans clinical applications in schizophrenia, depression, OCD, and dementia, often exploring pharmacogenetics and long-term medication effects.

Publications Trends: Recent articles demonstrate consistent focus on psychotropic medication optimization, including neurobiological mechanisms (2022), adverse effect profiles (2021), treatment-resistant conditions (2020), substance disorder management (2019), and benzodiazepine utilization patterns (2019).
