Shannon Corkery

Shannon Corkery is a Teaching Professor of Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) and Director of HDFS World Campus Programs at Pennsylvania State University. She holds a B.S. (2008) in Human Development & Family Studies and Psychology from Penn State, an M.S. (2011) and Ph.D. (2015) in Family Studies and Human Development from the University of Arizona. Her research focuses on commitment as a multi-dimensional construct (structural, moral, personal) and its effects on relational satisfaction, ambivalence, and sacrifices. She also investigates motivations in relationships through interdependence and social exchange theories, student-institution commitment in higher education, and online course development pedagogy. Her work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical applications in education and relational dynamics.
