Shanna Fealy

Shanna Fealy is an Adjunct Lecturer at the School of Medicine and Public Health, University of Newcastle. With over 15 years as a Registered Nurse and Midwife, she transitioned to academia after completing her Master of Midwifery Studies in 2008. Her career includes developing the Bachelor of Midwifery program at Newcastle's Port Macquarie Campus and establishing collaborations with the Mid North Coast Local Health District.

• Research Focus: Maternal/infant health and immersive technologies in nursing/midwifery education
• Current Projects: Lead investigator for the "Support for New Mums" app trial; exploring XR in midwifery training

Her recent publications analyze telehealth equity, AI applications in nursing, and EMR integration in education. She received the 2014 Teaching & Learning Staff Excellence Award and secured over $52,697 in grants for postnatal support systems and VR education tools.
