Shang Biwu

Biwu Shang is a Professor at the School of Foreign Languages, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, and holds the title of Youth Talent from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China since 2017. He has also been a Changjiang Youth Scholar since 2016 and a Fellow at the National Humanities Center in 2015-2016. His academic journey includes roles such as Distinguished Fellow at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Visiting Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania’s English Department in 2013.

His research focuses on literary theory, ethical literary criticism, world literature and comparative literature, contemporary English fiction, and narratology. Key themes include transnational narrative analysis, ethical dimensions in literary works, and the evolution of narrative forms across cultures. His work bridges Eastern and Western literary traditions through comparative frameworks, emphasizing narrative dynamics and their ethical implications.
