Shane Schartz, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Informatics at Fort Hays State University (FHSU). He holds a BBA (2002) and MBA (2003) from FHSU, and a PhD from Kansas State University in Educational Computing, Design, and Online Learning (2014). He is currently pursuing a DBA in MIS through Northcentral University.
- Teaches both campus and virtual courses including Management Information Systems, Android Application Development, Collaboration Systems, and Business Software Development.
- Previously taught internationally for SIAS, UIBE, and SNU in China as part of FHSU's China partnership program.
Research focuses on educational technology integration, online learning strategies, and aligning academic programs with IT industry needs. His work explores student motivation models in blended learning environments and certification trends impacting workforce readiness.
