Dr. Shanae Burch is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Center for Arts in Medicine, University of Florida. Her work focuses on leveraging arts and culture for public health equity, using methods like theatremaking and collaging. She holds a PhD in Public Health Education from Columbia University, an Ed.M from Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a B.F.A from Emerson College.

Her research explores how Black women and gender-expansive communities use art to foster healthful narratives. She co-edits the Health Promotion Practice's Poetry for the Public's Health section and champions health justice through union advocacy (Actors' Equity Association) and community work (Community Conversations: Sister 2 Sister).

Her current projects include the play-in-progress GriefLove and marathon training across global cities. She balances activism with service dog training and familial connections.
