Shana Tabak is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the College of Arts & Sciences, Georgia State University, specializing in International Law, Refugee Law, and Human Rights. She holds a B.A. from Macalester College, a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, and an L.L.M. from George Washington University Law School.
Her research focuses on transitional justice, gender-based violence, and LGBTI human rights, with experience in U.S. and international legal clinics. She has worked with organizations like the UNHCR in Jordan and the Tahirih Justice Center in Washington, D.C., and authored reports for the United Nations. As an expert witness, she has contributed to U.S. immigration cases involving LGBTI individuals.
Tabak has taught at American University, George Washington University, and in Colombia, emphasizing clinical legal education and human rights. Her Fulbright Scholarship (2002) supported research on migration and development in Bolivia.
