Shamir Ghumra is a Visiting Professor of ESG Performance & Strategy and currently serves as Director of Responsible Business at NHS Property Services. He oversees Corporate Social Responsibility, Energy & Environment initiatives, and the organisation’s Green Plan. With an Engineering Doctorate from Loughborough University, he holds professional recognition as a Fellow of IEMA and Chartered Environmentalist.
Prior roles include Head of Building Performance Services at the Building Research Establishment (BRE), where he contributed to energy modelling, BREEAM standards, and education via the BRE Academy. He co-founded the Supply Chain Sustainability School and chaired the Construction Industry Coalition on Modern Slavery. Shamir actively engages in industry standards at European and international levels, advocating for sustainable practices in the built environment.
