Dr. Shahram Heydari is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at the University of Southampton's Department of Civil, Maritime and Environmental Engineering, affiliated with the Transportation Research Group. His research focuses on transportation safety, air pollution, and travel behavior at the intersection of public health and urban planning. He holds a PhD in Transportation Engineering from the University of Waterloo and completed postdoctoral training at Imperial College London. Dr. Heydari is an editorial board member of Analytic Methods in Accident Research and a member of CIRRELT. He has supervised multiple PhD students and received notable awards including the Alexander Graham Bell Scholarship and NSERC Fellowship.
His research integrates advanced statistical methods like Bayesian nonparametrics to address real-world transportation challenges.
