معرفی
Dr. Dominique Lord is a Professor and A.P. and Florence Wiley Faculty Fellow in the Zachry Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Texas A&M University, with over 30 years of global expertise in highway safety research and statistical modeling of motor vehicle collisions.
Education:
- Ph.D., University of Toronto (2000)
Research Focus: His pioneering work centers on highway safety analytics, developing innovative statistical methods (including Bayesian approaches) for crash data analysis, human factors evaluation (particularly for older drivers and pedestrians), and safety prediction modeling. He has authored the seminal textbook Highway Safety Analytics and Modeling (2021) and co-authored key chapters in the Highway Safety Manual.
Scientific Recognition:
- Transportation Research Board D. Grant Mickle Award
- 2000 Canadian Association of Road Safety Professional Best Paper Award
- 2010 CUTC-ARTBA New Faculty Member Award
- CDC New Investigator Research Award
Research Leadership: Dr. Lord directs major federally funded projects including NCHRP 17-58 (safety models for urban arterials), NCHRP 17-29 (rural highway safety prediction), TxDOT roadway departure crash analysis, and CDC-funded older driver safety initiatives. As Associate Editor for Accident Analysis & Prevention and active TRB committee member, he shapes national transportation safety standards.
Research Infrastructure: His work is conducted through the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI), where he previously served as Associate Research Scientist (2001-2004) and continues to lead safety evaluation programs using advanced data analytics frameworks.
