Shah J Miah is a Professor of Business Analytics at Newcastle Business School, The University of Newcastle, Australia. He holds academic roles including Program Director for the Bachelor of Business Analytics and Director of Alumni Engagement. Previously, he held positions at Victoria University, Griffith University, and James Cook University. He earned his PhD in Business Decision Support Systems from Griffith University.
His research focuses on AI-driven business systems, including robotic automation, cyber-physical systems, and data analytics. He has produced over 200 publications in top-tier journals and serves on editorial boards of journals like the Australasian Journal of Information Systems. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Victoria University (Melbourne), University of Fiji, and Verandra University (Bangladesh).
Prof Miah has supervised 15 completed PhDs and is currently supervising over 14 projects. His expertise includes innovative teaching methods in business intelligence, big data, and predictive analytics. Key research areas include business process automation, ethical AI, and smart education solutions. His work addresses challenges in digital transformation, healthcare technology, and Industry 4.0 applications.
He actively collaborates with industries and universities globally, focusing on applying AI and data science to solve real-world business problems. His contributions span theoretical frameworks and practical implementations in areas like remote health monitoring, social robots, and blockchain for remittance systems.
