Severin Vierrath

Dr. Severin Vierrath is an Associated Researcher at the Chair of Application Development within the Institute for Microsystems Technology (IMTEK) at the University of Freiburg. His work focuses on electrochemical energy systems, particularly fuel cells, water electrolyzers, and batteries. He leads the AlkaCell project developing novel materials for alkaline fuel cells and has expertise in membrane electrode assembly design and microstructure analysis.

His research integrates advanced materials engineering with electrochemical processes, addressing challenges in proton transport, catalyst durability, and gas crossover in energy devices.
