Dr. Carolin Klose is a Division Leader of Electrochemical Energy Systems at the University of Freiburg's Department of Microsystems Engineering (IMTEK), part of the Faculty of Engineering. She holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Konstanz (2020) and previously worked as a research associate and group leader in electrochemical energy systems. Her research focuses on hydrocarbon-based proton exchange membranes for fuel cells and electrolyzers, emphasizing material optimization and system durability. Dr. Klose has received awards for her teaching and research, including a 2023 faculty-wide teaching award for her course on electrochemical energy applications.
