Seung-Yeon Ryoo

Seung-Yeon Ryoo is an Olga Taussky and John Todd Postdoctoral Scholar Teaching Fellow in Mathematics at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), within the Division of Physics, Mathematics and Astronomy. His research focuses on metric geometry of nilpotent Lie groups, Carnot groups, and synchronization models such as the Winfree and Kuramoto systems. He explores bilipschitz embeddings of metric spaces and rigorous mathematical frameworks for synchronization phenomena. Recent work includes studies on phase-locked states in synchronization models on Lie groups and optimal distortion embeddings of Carnot groups.

Publications highlight contributions to geometric analysis, including Poincaré inequalities on nilpotent Lie groups and asymptotic dynamics of synchronization models.
