معرفی
Enrico Le Donne is a Full Professor of Mathematics at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. His research focuses on sub-Riemannian geometry, Carnot groups, and geometric measure theory. He has held positions at the University of Jyväskylä (Finland), University of Pisa (Italy), and others. Le Donne’s work bridges geometric analysis, metric geometry, and group theory, with applications to rectifiability and isometry studies.
Education: BSc and MSc from Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa and Yale University. PhD in Mathematics from Yale (2009), advised by Bruce Kleiner.
Research Interests: Includes sub-Riemannian geometry, Carnot groups, geometric measure theory, and embedding problems. His articles explore topics like Carnot group structures, rectifiability, and geometric flows. Recent work addresses hypergenerated Carnot groups and sub-Finsler spheres.
Recognition: ERC Starting Grant (2017) and Finnish Academy Research Fellowship (2015). He organizes international conferences and collaborates globally.
Supervision: Advised PhD students including Valerio Gianella, Sebastiano Nicolussi Golo, and Eero Hakavuori. Hosted postdocs such as Francesca Tripaldi and Gabriel Pallier.
Labs/Teams: Leads the ERC project GeoMeG (Geometry of Metric Groups) and co-organizes the Sub-Riemannian Geometry conferences.
