Seung-Hye Kim is a Lecturer in the Department of Performing Arts - Music at Christopher Newport University (CNU). She holds a PhD in Music Composition from the University of Florida, an MA in Electroacoustic Music Composition from the Korean National University of Arts, and a BA in Piano Performance from Seoul National University.
Her research focuses on contemporary music, electroacoustic composition, and interdisciplinary collaborations. Notable works include Residuum (award-winning marimba duo) and Fluctuations (flute and computer piece released on the SEAMUS label). She has collaborated with video artists and dancers on projects like Global Drift, performed internationally in Brisbane, Australia.
As a performer, Kim specializes in classical and contemporary piano repertoire, including works with live electronics. Previous teaching roles include positions at the Korean National University of Arts and the University of Florida.
