Sethuraman Kinjal

Dr. Kinjal Sethuraman is Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Medical Director of the Center for Hyperbaric and Dive Medicine at University of Maryland. She holds an MD from University of Vermont and MPH from University of Michigan, with fellowship training in Hyperbaric/Dive Medicine.

Her research examines hyperbaric oxygen therapy applications including carbon monoxide toxicity, radiation injury, decompression illness, and necrotizing infections. Additional focus areas include gender equity in emergency medicine, trauma resuscitation outcomes, and patient safety in medication management.

Recent publications demonstrate strong focus on therapeutic outcomes in hyperbaric medicine and gender disparities in academic emergency medicine. Article trends show integration of clinical outcomes research with healthcare equity studies.

She leads research on traumatic injury protocols with gender-specific considerations and serves as site PI for NIH-funded HOBIT trial on hyperbaric oxygen for traumatic brain injury.
