معرفی
Peter Lindholm is a Lecturer and Docent at the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, Karolinska Institutet. He leads the 'Hyperbaric Medicine' research group, focusing on hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) effects in clinical settings and extreme environments. His work includes clinical trials evaluating HBOT for conditions like Long COVID and pulmonary embolism, as well as diving-related physiology and imaging diagnostics.
Research Interests:
His primary areas include hyperbaric medicine, respiratory physiology, and extreme environments. He investigates HBOT efficacy in ARDS, necrotizing infections, and radiation cystitis. Lindholm also explores pulmonary embolism diagnostics via MRI and CT, alongside breath-hold diving risks and cardiovascular responses to oxygen therapy.
Key Collaborations:
Lindholm collaborates with institutions like the Sahlgrenska Academy, the Department of Oncology-Pathology at KI, and centers for Infectious Medicine. His team includes researchers like Anders Kjellberg (PhD student) and Kenny Rodriguez-Wallberg (Professor).
Grants & Funding:
Recent grants include Swedish Research Council funding for HBOT in necrotizing infections and epigenetic studies in post-COVID conditions. Previous support came from the Swedish Heart Lung Foundation and Avtal om Läkarutbildning och Forskning (ALF).
Labs & Teams:
His research group operates within the Hyperbaric Medicine unit at Karolinska University Hospital. They utilize advanced imaging (MRI/CT) and clinical trial infrastructure to study HBOT mechanisms and outcomes.
