Seth Swanner is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at the University of Wyoming. He specializes in early modern literature with focuses on seventeenth-century politics, ecocriticism, critical bibliography, and religious studies. His current book project, Fringe Natures: Political Upheaval and the Early Modern Environment, examines intersections between political concepts and environmental thought in literature.

- Affiliations: Previously served as Lecturer in the LeaRN Program (2019–2023)
His research explores how literary works engage with political instability and environmental themes, particularly through analysis of works by Shakespeare, John Webster, and George Herbert. He has been recognized for teaching excellence with awards from the College of Arts and Sciences and the PIE Award.
