Seth Jaffe

Seth Jaffe is an Adjunct Professor of Law at both Berkeley Law and the University of San Francisco School of Law, serving part-time. He previously held executive legal roles including Chief Legal Officer at Levi Strauss & Co., General Counsel at Williams-Sonoma, and leadership positions at CareThere Inc. and McCutchen Doyle law firm.

• Education: JD from University of Michigan Law School (1980), AB in History & Political Science from Brown University (1977)

His expertise spans corporate law, governance, intellectual property, and enterprise risk management. He has led global legal teams supporting operations across 110+ countries and managed the Levi Strauss Foundation’s social impact initiatives.

Awards: Recognized as 2015 Bay Area Corporate Counsel of the Year by Silicon Valley Business Journal and San Francisco Business Times.

Leadership & Community: Board member of Hand in Hand and Mill Valley Philharmonic (current board president and timpanist). Previously served on non-profit boards and remains active in legal and philanthropic circles.
