Serwah Prempeh

Serwah Prempeh is a Research Fellow at the Africa Policy Research Institute (APRI), where she leads the Just Green Technology Transition Programme and contributes to the Economy and Society Programme. Her work focuses on aligning African technology innovation with global climate goals, examining governance frameworks in innovation ecosystems, and strengthening Africa-Germany-EU relations in green technology.

• PhD in Culture and Technology in Africa from Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies (BIGSAS)
• MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge

Her research expertise includes economic diplomacy, institutional reform in electricity markets in developing economies, and Africa's role in the global green economy. She has led multi-year projects analyzing actor networks and governance dynamics to integrate African expertise into global innovation systems.

Prempeh previously managed policy research for the Australian High Commission in Ghana, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. She also served as a Junior Fellow at BIGSAS during her doctoral studies.
