Serkan ŞAHİN is an Associate Professor at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Anthropology. He specializes in paleoanthropology, archaeometry, and human evolution, with a focus on Anatolian populations. His research integrates fieldwork, skeletal analysis, and lithic studies to explore human adaptation from the Paleolithic to medieval periods.

Research Interests: ŞAHİN's work spans paleopathology, osteology, fossil hominin behavior, and archaeological survey methodologies. He leads projects like the Malatya Neogene/Pleistocene Survey and has contributed to excavations at key sites including Gürgürbaba Hill and Üçağızlı Cave. His research emphasizes biocultural adaptation in ancient Anatolian populations.
Publications: His 97 publications predominantly address Anatolian fossil records, lithic technologies, and health transitions in historical populations. Recent works highlight Paleolithic surveys, skeletal trauma analysis, and methodological innovations in archaeometry.
Projects & Students: He has participated in 68 archaeological projects across Turkey, often as director or researcher. Currently advising two Master’s students, his mentorship focuses on paleopathological analysis of archaeological skeletal remains.
